It's actually logical to think that you have sinned therefore, you should not appear before the presence of God and of course guilt results in reluctance and struggle to pray.
So, you choose to stay away until you have it sorted out but the more you try to get over it the harder it gets and the farther you want to go away from God! Obviously, you can not sort out anything by yourself!
No matter your error, present yourself before him and ask him to help you... There is no justification outside him but in him you are justified! It's beyond logic... Happy Sunday!
